My Personal Mission Statement

I am a Child of the Living, Perfect, Righteous and Holy God. I am His heir because of adoption through His grace by faith, made possible by the atoning death and victorious resurrection of His Son, and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have surrendered my life to His Lordship and I live according to His will under the guidance of the Holy Spirit; not perfectly, but striving for that perfection.

He has given me “my” perfect bride and two wonderful children. They are His greatest earthly gift to me. As a result, I will give them no less than my best, and I will place them above everything else on Earth. I owe them the Spiritual Leadership that God has called me to in the institution of marriage and their spiritual failures are mine.

He has called me to vocational ministry, which makes me a slave of the Bride of Christ and God’s inerrant and infallible Word. As a result, I will endeavor joyfully to make Disciples of Christ of all people. I will protect her from the attacks of secular society. I will labor to strengthen her by increasing the Wisdom of those God has called me to teach. I will remember always that she is His and not my own, guiding her according to the Holy Spirit’s illumination.

He is the Lord of my life and I will follow wherever He leads, for even though I recognize that I am unfit to lead, I also understand His sovereignty and His ability to overcome my failings. He has given me a passion and a gift for teaching.  I will endeavor to continually improve my knowledge of His Word and my ability to teach His Word to those who are called by His name.  I will never seek an opportunity to teach, but I will always be prepared and never decline an opportunity He provides, be it in the pulpit or in the classroom; all for his Glory.

He is the ultimate aim and purpose for all I am and do, so I will ever strive to make all my efforts point to Jesus Christ.  He is the only means to salvation and the source of all joy.
